Administrative History	Opened in 1839 as a chapel to Mottram-in-Longdendale. In 1841 it became a parish church serving Newton [nr. Hyde]. In 2011 the parish was united with Newton Flowery Field as “Newton with Flowery Field”. For later records, see also Godley cum Newton Green and Newton Flowery Field.
